What is MFA and Why Use It

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) requires a second verification step beyond your password when you sign in. Even if someone learns your password, they cannot access your account without your second factor. Enabling MFA is one of the best things you can do to protect your account.

Setting Up MFA

Using an Authenticator App

EasyBook offers several ways to add a second factor to your account. Choose the method that works best for you.

  1. Go to Account and open Security
  2. Tap Enable MFA
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, or similar)
  4. Enter the code displayed in the app to confirm setup
  5. Save your recovery codes in a safe place

Using Passkeys

An authenticator app generates time-based codes on your phone.

  1. Go to Account and open Security
  2. Tap Add Passkey
  3. Follow the prompt to use your fingerprint, face, or security key
  4. Give the passkey a name so you can identify it later

Using Email Verification

Passkeys let you sign in using your fingerprint, face recognition, or a hardware security key.

Recovery Codes

A verification code is sent to your email when extra verification is needed. No setup is required as it uses your account email automatically.

  • Each recovery code can only be used once
  • Store them in a password manager or write them down and keep them safe
  • You can generate a new set of codes at any time

When You'll Be Asked to Verify

Recovery codes are backup codes for when you cannot access your phone or authenticator app. Keep them stored securely.

  • Signing in from a new device
  • Changing your account settings
  • After a period of inactivity

Managing Your MFA

  1. Go to Account and open Security
  2. View your active MFA methods and change or add methods as needed
  3. To disable MFA, remove all configured methods and confirm

Recovery Email

You can add a recovery email address to your account as an additional way to regain access if you are locked out. The recovery email is separate from your primary email and is used only for account recovery.

  1. Go to Account and open Security
  2. Find the Recovery Email section
  3. Enter a different email address that you have access to
  4. Verify the recovery email by clicking the link sent to it
